Find out more about our pre-built and custom segments

As part of our Intent Performance score, we allow you to understand the following things around your customer;

  • Objective; What should we be trying to get the customer to do? Engage, Build Intent, Maintain Intent or Convert

  • Current State; Is the customer showing positive or negative behaviours? Focussed Shopping, Struggle Behaviour or Abandon

  • Context; What do we understand about a customers level of intent and Buying Stage?

This data is then taken to provide you with a Made with Intent segmentation framework that enables you to understand your key areas of opportunity, and then easily target your customers in-flight or post-session (via an integration).

You can access these segments either through the Intent Performance Score, or via the Segment link in the menu.

​However, we understand that as a business you may want to focus on a specific traffic source, category or other objective. So we give you complete flexibility with all our data points to build and analyse custom segments based on your data.


There are a few important features to know about both pre-built and custom segments;

Segment Conflicts

Within the base Made with Intent segmentation framework, users are only able to fall into one segment at a time. However, it is worth noting that as you refine segments it may be possible for users to fall into multiple segments. As a result, if you had experiences running for multiple segments, users may see more than one experience. We are in the process of building segment conflicts within the platform to support you in identifying these.

Segment Matching Script

All segments have a ‘Segment Matching Script’, that you can find by clicking on the segments card. This script should be used when you want to trigger an experience when users match this segment (e.g. within the triggers section of your testing tool). Segment Reporting

Segment Reporting is available for all segments, and allows you to dive further into the segment. Find out more here

Segment Opportunities

Our Made with Intent segments also have ‘Opportunities’ available for you to explore. These opportunities are content from the Made with Intent team to act as inspiration on what the segment means and how you could action this behaviour.
