Using Made With Intent, you can integrate with Hotjar to enrich heatmaps, recordings, and surveys with intent context, helping teams understand why users behave the way they do, not just what they did.
Hotjar is excellent at showing where users click, scroll or drop off. Made With Intent adds the missing layer by overlaying intent stages, signals, and trends, allowing teams to see what visitors were trying to achieve and how close they were to conversion at the time.
This turns Hotjar from a purely behavioural tool into a decision-support tool, helping teams prioritise insights and focus on the sessions that matter most.
How to set this up
Once you have set up the integration within the platform, you can then filter the data within Hotjar using the user attributes. The specific attributes will be based on the data pack you have chosen as part of the integration set-up.
Use Cases
Heatmaps; Filter Heatmap data to one group of users in order to understand how they interact with different pages on site. These insights can then be taken into testing or personalisation strategies, to give your customers the right content at the right time
Recordings; Filter your recordings to look at users who were in a specific segment, or had a specific intent metric (e.g. high likelihood of abandoning). This allows you to gain behavioural understanding of how your customers were interacting with your site, in order to build hypotheses for experimentation or UX improvements
Surveys; Target surveys to users in a specific segment to better understand their motivations on site and enrich your customer understanding. For example, asking questions to abandoning customers around why they are leaving site, and how this could be prevented in the future.
