What are Session Summaries?

Session Summaries condense the behavioural signals of a shopper’s visit into a single, structured data event. Designed for integrations with tools like Bloomreach, Klaviyo, Google Analytics etc. they provide a contextual overview of the session, making it easier to understand what your visitors were trying to do.

Overview

They shift the analytical burden of Made With Intent data away from stitching together raw events to interpreting structured, intent-rich context. Think of them as an end-of-session report card… a single, coherent summary that tells you where the visitor was in their journey and how that journey progressed.

This makes it easier for you to:

  • Analyse traffic quality and behaviour by source

  • Run smarter post-visit campaigns (e.g. cart abandon, browse abandon)

  • Identify and target opportunities based on session-level intent

With Session Summaries, you get a session-level snapshot of:

  • The intent stage and mindset of the shopper

  • What they engaged with

  • Key Intent Signals like purchase confidence and return likelihood

How to Set-Up Session Summaries

Session Summaries will soon be available in the product within our Integrations area.

Until then, to enable Session Summaries for your account, simply contact your Customer Success Manager or reach out to the Made With Intent team. We’ll handle the setup for you, ensuring the summaries are structured correctly and integrated into your analytics or CRM stack.

  1. We'll ask why you’d want this data. What are the use cases?

  2. Send written confirmation to handle session-level identifiers

    1. In order to activate this feature, we require written confirmation that you are happy for us to handle session-level identifiers such as GA4 cookie ID, Bloomreach ID, or similar PII. These identifiers are necessary for accurate event processing and to ensure session summaries can be mapped effectively within your systems.

  3. We'll ask you to provide:

    1. An API key to use for the Measurement Protocol

      1. Your measurement ID

  4. Made With Intent will then enable this for you within our product

  5. Your CSM will walk you through best practices and how to use this in a follow-up call. Our team will guide you through this process and provide best practices for making the most of Session Summaries from day one.
